Flare Path is an independent commercial finance brokerage that helps you secure competitive funding quickly and efficiently. We work entirely for you, not the lender.
How it works
Start the process by telling us what your funding requirement is and we translate that into a professional borrowing proposal. We then present it to our network of banks, specialist lenders, private debt funds or equity investors as appropriate to get you market-leading offers.
If you like what you see then you then we put you and the chosen lender together, but stay by your side to help you through the paperwork and lender / surveyor / lawyer engagement until drawdown of funds.
Our fee is a pre-agreed percentage of the finance we achieve for you and payable only on successful draw down. Often this percentage - or a good proportion of it - is covered by the lender.
How the flare was lit
Before setting up Flare Path in 2013, Alex Lynford worked as a director in the commercial lending divisions of major UK banks.
He often saw solid businesses and property projects fail to get funding because they had put together a poorly structured proposal or were asking at the wrong place for the wrong type of finance. Flare Path was born out of a desire to improve the connection between entrepreneurs and lenders.
Alex is ideally placed to make this connection. He retains a fluent command of bankese from his career "on the other side of the desk" and has also worked for years in UK and overseas businesses. He writes regular articles on institutional finance and his guide for businesses, How Banks Work (And How to Get Yours Working for You) was published in 2015.
